HIP-HOP COSMIC CIRCLE: Bethlehem and Ramallah
Moises Lopez has been building with Hip-Hop artists and educators in Bethlehem and Ramallah (Palestine). A series of cyphers will be conducted in July 2015, that will offer fellow creative artists, writers, strategists, inventors, and thinkers to share their best ideas, present work, stories, and critical perspectives; including the social and political movements that occurred before and that have been influential to the manifestation of Hip-Hop. Through film screenings, panel discussions, and collaborative music performances, the three day conference is intended to provide a space where participants will be able to interrogate the dynamics of power, hegemony, and popular culture in the Middle East emphasizing interaction and exchange of knowledge. From this engagement will emerge a proactive framework to make innovations glow in a region often presented through the Israeli-Palestinian conflict prism by bringing, together, people who have already been independently contributing to innovations.
